For vocals, Fruity Compressor and Fruity Blood Overdrive are my go-to plugins. Compressor settings: -30db limit, complete ratio, 30db gain, fast assault and not-so-fast launch. You need to ensure the vocal take can be as clean possible though, otherwise all that sound is going to kick you within the face! adding a little bit of Blood Overdrive for extra violence if required. I understand that is an old plugin and we’ve got Maximus, but that thing did a whole lot for me personally. I am hoping it gets a revamp!
